Shrine of Mariapoch

The Shrine of Mariapoch is south east of Burton, Ohio on Mumford Road. (Map). The shrine is near Sugarloaf Hill, which is one of the highest points in Ohio. The summit is on private land. From Mumford Road, the hill appears to be more of a bump than an imposing mountain.

The roads that lead to the Shrine of Mariapoch are in good condition. The area is rural and there is minimal traffic, except the occasional Amish buggy. The terrain that's North of the shrine has some 200 foot climbs out of the river valley south of Burton.

A statue of the Virgin Mary marks the entrance of the Shrine.

The distance from Chardon to the Shrine is 20 miles.
